Fabula’s “Sip of the Month” is a different and exclusive offering coming out every 4 weeks. It is a wonderful way for our fellow coffee-fans to try a different region, bean or roast.

“Fabula” means story. We believe every bean has a story to tell, connected to the regions, history, environments, and their farmers.

This time around, we are featuring a Fabula first: Coffee from Bolivia! We are always excited to sample and cup from new regions, and this coffee comes to us from a group of 35 small specialty coffee producers that are members of the coop “APROCAFE”.

Founded in 1999, APROCAFE has since then been dedicated to ecological and Fair Trade certified coffee production. Since 2018, APROCAFE has been involved in a new agritourism project. As part of this project, visitors can tour the farms of these specialty coffee producers and even take part in some of the agricultural work, such as harvesting, pulping, drying, etc.

This project is exclusively designed and managed by the young coffee producers of APROCAFE. Historically, drug cartels have strong-armed farmers in Bolivia into growing coca, but a lot of work has been done to try and help coffee farmers stay sustainable.

The specialty coffee producers hand pick their ripe cherries and deliver them to the APROCAFE association. Once received, the cherries go through a selection process before moving on to pulping. The cherries are machine pulped and then placed in wooden trays for 12-15 hours for maceration/fermentation. After this stage, they are washed and dried in the sun. Once dried, the coffee bean is sealed up and ready to ship to roasters across the world.

In the cup we taste milk chocolate, black cherry and a silky smooth body. Try a different coffee, enjoy Caranavi with us!

Always Fresh. Always Fabulicious.

Where our coffee comes from is important. We proudly provide the very highest grade, single-origin coffee beans in the world. You can taste its origin, intricate and complex characteristics, just like in the world of fine wines.

Finding great coffees is like a hunting for treasures. The best coffees come from remote areas, grown deep inside the jungle, at high altitudes. There often is no infrastructure. No paved roads. There are mudslides. Heavy rainfalls... But the coffee... oh, it is worth it.

At Fabula, we do not mess with perfection.

Outrageous shipping fees.

The coffee was very good but the shipping fees were shocking. I did make this complaint to the company but no response which is my second complaint.

White Nile Uganda- Great Flavor, lots of caffeine

I typically get the Dark Roast, I wanted to try something else this time. I purchased the White Nile, Uganda. I really enjoy the flavor, but it does have more caffeine than the Dark Roast. I can tell the difference, it doesn't make me jittery, but I do get that caffeine high. I have been adding additional water when I make this to compensate.
