Half-Caff Coffee: beyond that catchy name, what is it? Well, it’s half caffeinated coffee! A blend of both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee beans, in a 50/50 ratio. You could say it’s the best of both worlds.
Our Half-Caff is made up of two Fabula all-time favorites, our Medium caffeinated roast from Peru, and our medium roast Decaf from Mexico. These two single origin coffees complement each other extremely well: they are both nutty and chocolatey; full bodied and yet with intricate flavor notes. Both coffees are Caturra, Catuai, and Catimor varietals of the Arabica bean, delicious and refined.
The decaf is of course Swiss water processed: a completely chemical-free, more gentle process, which also retains more of the original coffee bean flavor and aroma.
The caffeinated coffee is from Peru's northern highlands, on the border of the Andes Mountains. The coffee grows at altitudes of up to 7,000 feet, which is considered extreme in the world of coffee. The higher altitude gives the coffee cherries more time to develop and ripen, resulting in more defined and distinct flavors.
We think it's a great alternative and compromise between both decaf and caffeinated coffee. Intense coffee flavor, but with far less of the caffeine jitters! Try it out, you may never go back!
