A returning favorite with extra depth for chillier mornings! Nueva Segovia is a high-altitude region in Nicaragua known for producing exceptional coffee. It has become a key sourcing area, with farms ranging from 1 to 14 hectares that consistently excel in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition. The coffee comes from a cooperative of 38 smaller co-ops representing over 2,300 farmers—30 percent of whom are women.

Traditionally planted with coffee varieties like Typica, Bourbon and Maragogipe, Nicaragua faces challenges, particularly with coffee-leaf rust affecting lower-altitude farms (800–900 masl). Despite these difficulties, Nueva Segovia’s coffee shines, offering unique flavors that showcase the region's potential. The rugged, remote terrain adds complexity to cultivation, but it also enriches the coffee’s distinctive character.
