“Fabula” means story. We believe every bean has a story to tell, connected to the regions, history, environments, and their farmers.

This special lot comes to us from the Women Coffee Extension (WCE) at the Mbizi Coffee Washing Station in Rwanda. Founded in 2017 by Aline Christine and Odette Uwamariya, WCE is a women’s coffee cooperative dedicated to empowering female specialty coffee producers. With over 700 members, WCE provides a platform for women to have a stronger voice in Rwanda’s coffee industry.

WCE focuses on educating and supporting its members through various initiatives. They offer family planning services, nutrition programs, and agricultural education. Additionally, they provide livestock such as cows and goats, which has significantly improved coffee production. Members have seen their yield increase from 3 kgs to 4 kgs per tree, and the washing station’s output has grown from 3 to 6 containers of green coffee.

Looking ahead, WCE is working towards expanding its programs and certifications. They are currently pursuing Rain Forest certification to enhance the value of their coffee. Future goals include providing cows to all members, covering health insurance for many, and developing community projects like a sewing center for youth and a nursery school for local children.

These efforts reflect WCE’s commitment to improving the lives of their members and the surrounding community. Their focus on education, health, and economic support is driving meaningful change in the region.

SO FRESH

I am used to dark roast or espresso but switching it up occasionally is good. This roast is unbelievable. So delicious and fresh.
